Jeff PerrottiJeff Perrotti is the founding director of the Safe Schools Program for Gay and Lesbian Students at the Massachusetts Department of Education, and is the director of their pioneering, present initiative to address gender and sexual orientation in career/vocational technical education.  Over the years, Jeff has conducted hundreds of workshops on gender and sexual orientation issues for school administrators, counselors, coaches, teachers, parents, and students. He is the co-author, with Kim Westheimer, of When the Drama Club is not Enough: Lessons from the Safe Schools Program for Gay and Lesbian Students (Beacon Press, 2001). Jeff is one of the creators of the Women's Sports Foundation's video and curriculum project It Takes a Team: Making Sports Safe for Lesbian and Gay Athletes and Coaches, and co-wrote, with Dr. Pat Griffin, the discussion guide for GLSEN and ESPN's Outside the Lines: The World of the Gay Athlete. He worked closely with Corey Johnson, the Masconomet High School football co-captain who successfully came out to his teammates and school. Jeff appeared in the 20/20 segment, Corey Johnson High School Hero and in The New York Times, which documented Corey's positive experience.   In addition to his work with the Massachusetts Department of Education, Jeff currently teaches and advises students in the Psychology Department at Harvard University. Jeff has received several teaching awards at Harvard, and was recently featured on Italian Rai International Radio, speaking about Harvard's acclaimed Positive Psychology course.
